Please include the device model, the iOS version and what you were doing. If there was an error message, its exact wording helps most.

The app asks for a join code

That is how it is meant to work. Kotityöt is not a cloud service you sign up for: a device is paired to the family's own installation with a join code. The code comes from the family that runs the installation.

If the code is rejected, check the server address as well. It can be changed under Palvelinosoite (server address) on the pairing screen.

The app shows old data

When there is no connection, the app shows the last fetched data and says so at the top of the screen. It refreshes by itself once the connection returns. You can also pull the view down to refresh.

A completion does not appear on another device

Completions made without a connection are queued on that device and sent automatically once the connection returns. Queued items are marked with an arrow in the grid, and their star value is confirmed only on sending — a theme day can increase it.

Stars cannot be redeemed

The redeem button is enabled only when the balance covers the reward's price. After redeeming, stars are deducted immediately, but an administrator approves the reward separately.

A past day cannot be recorded

Recording a completion for a day before today requires the administrator password. This is deliberate: it prevents accidental backdated entries.

Unpairing a device

The week view menu contains Irrota laite (unpair device). It revokes the device's token and clears the cache left on the device. The app can be paired again with the same or a different join code.
